GIACOMO is a student at Uva Academy in Paldea, in his junior year. it's his first full school year back to his academic studies, after Operation Starfall has come to an end. Giacomo is assisting in a study hall, lead by the former team star bosses. he's happy to exist peacefully as a student alongside his team star friends, but the lack of other students in tutoring does feel a touch alienating.
RESSI is a Unovan transfer student at Uva Academy in Paldea, transferring from Blueberry Academy in their junior year. Ressi is struggling academically, feeling as if they cannot study their true passion -- history -- due to familial pressure to be a competitive trainer. while being in Paldea is lonely, it is also freeing; and the bonds they make during tutoring support them in their interests.

Ressi is a student from Unova, coming from a family of competitive trainers who focus on psychic types. despite this, they struggle with training pokemon, and have very little interest in competitive battling.in their youngest years, Ressi had a deep fascination with history, namely ancient ruins and fossil pokemon. while socializing was difficult for them (and continued to be as they aged), sinking themself deep into their interests was far easier.hitting their teenage years with family enrolling them into the Unovan Blueberry Academy, the pressure was on them to catch up with the familial battling reputation. Ressi feels hopeless grappling with their lack of skill in the thing they "should" be good at, feeling quite depressed at BBA as they were ranked as one of the worst trainers in the academy.upon what would be their junior year in high school, BBA offers Ressi an opportunity to study at their partner school, Uva Academy in Paldea, as a means of "supporting academic growth".improvement wasnt immediate, though -- and before committing to a choice to drop out of school altogether, they try attending a newfound tutoring class held by a group of students, who happen to be rejoining the student body after months of skipping class.
